Budget iPhone photos leak?

Budget iPhone photos leak?

We’ve been hearing about the iPhone nano, aka the budget iPhone, for a while now and Vietnamese set Tinhte might finally have scored a prototype.

3 pictures below are photographs handset is said to be the next version of iPhone 4 from a very reliable source. Really hard to convince you to believe this because it is exactly like the iPhone 4 white appearance. Some other information that you want to transfer to you is that this machine seems to run faster than the iPhone 4, lighter weight and two glass front and back seem to have been replaced by two plastic sheets, type of sensation and cry other than the iPhone 4. According to information leakage, predictable from the English website, the more likely Apple will introduce the iPhone 4s (cheap version) and the iPhone 5 next month. And it looks like the iPhone that you see below is the iPhone 4s.

That Apple was working on a cheaper iPhone for new entrants and emerging markets has always been assumed — because it makes sense — but how exactly they’d go about doing it was and is the big question. Just like the MacBook Air and iPad are to the netbook, Apple has a way of filling holes in the product line-up in unpredictable but often high effective ways.

Instead of making an iPhone physically smaller, or using iPhone 3GS parts, if these pictures prove to be genuine, and this prototype hasn’t already been abandoned, the idea of plastic instead of glass and possibly other lower-end components could very easily make for a cheaper iPhone that’s still binary compatible with the existing App Store apps and perhaps even current accessories (and Jailbreaks?).

But then would iPhone 5 have to look different so fashionistas don’t worry about it being mistaken for the cheap phone?

$8.1 Million iPad 2 Made Out of Gold and a Dinosaur Bone

If you thought that you have already seen the most ridiculous onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.ipadngravy.com');" target="_blank" title="iPad" href="http://www.ipadngravy.com">iPad that the world of outrageous indulgence has devised, well general consumers can take a look at what should be next to the definition of “unnecessary” in the dictionary. Anybody with $8.1 million burning a hole through their pocket, actually never mind; this is not what you want to spend it on. If it is, then we won’t judge you for taste since beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Smart spending, however…

From the conception of a British mind, luxury designer Stuart Hughes, comes “iPad 2 Gold History Edition.” 12.5 cts of “Flawless” diamond, 53 gems, and a solid 24ct gold make up… just the Apple logo. The remainder of the back is covered in 2,000 grams of solid 24ct gold.

Where the “Gold History Edition” design really excels and reveals its distinction is on the front bezel. Oh, and also where the last two words of its name come from. Not only is it “made from the oldest rock the world has to offer” with the 75 million year-old Canadian stone Ammolite, but also a real 65 million year-old T-Rex’s thigh bone. Of course, the luxury does not stop at the home button. That is made with a 8.5ct flawless diamond inlaid in platinum and surrounded by 12 outer diamonds

Even though it costs 10,000 times more than the standard iPad 2 that consumers typically buy, Apple’s design still manages to hold its own against $8.1 million worth of extra – uh, I am not sure “luxuries” is the right word so let’s go with design elements. In all seriousness, the design is beginning to grow on us a little. Though not enough for us to consider opening our checkbooks to money we don’t and may never have.

You can own one of the two made by visiting Stuart Hughes’ onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/stuarthughes.com/newdawn/product_info.php?products_id=108');" target="_blank" href="http://stuarthughes.com/newdawn/product_info.php?products_id=108">site. Even though you will not actually be purchasing anything, Hughes does have a few items worth a look at that demonstrate his artistic prowess.

One question I have is: will the people who buy these actually use it as their iPad? That would be stupider than dropping $8.1 million dollars on it because if the iPad 2 is dropped, then that $8.1 million will have literally been dropped.

iPhone 5 For Early September, iPad 3 In November?

href="http://tw.news.yahoo.com/article/url/d/a/110728/4/2vubs.html">The China Times believes the next iPhone will be released in the second week of September, with the first round of orders passing the four million margin — and suppliers are currently working through test runs of 400,000 units. September is widely pegged as the release month for the next iPhone, though speculation is still running rampant as to what form it will take, and whether it will be a true iPhone 5, or an iPhone 4S.

The article also states that November is when the iPad 3 will launch, calling it a delay until Thanksgiving due to component shortages.

New Security update for the iPhone and iPad

With great power comes a great big target painted on your security systems. At-least this is how Apple’s experience with security is evolving. Every time it released a security updated, thousands of hackers (for good and bad reasons) begin spending countless hours trying to break through the code. Some do it for the fun of it, others to jail break their devices and let us not forget those who want to steal your personal details or spread malicious bits of code via the Apple devices.  Apple’s relatively small team of tech wizards must feel hopeless outnumbered.

A testament to this fact is the recent Apple security update (iOS 4.3.5), which was released only 2 weeks after yet another security updated. The latest one is said to protect the device from “an attacker with a privileged network position” who may be able to “capture or modify data in sessions protected by SSL/TLS”.

According to security experts, this means that an attacker would already need an access to a network in order to control or modify these SSL sessions.

Put together, this means that an attacker could steal all your data while you are innocently surfing the web but only if he already has access to the network that you are working on.

It is highly recommended that you keep your iOS devices updated at all times. Right now, you need to get attach your device to a computer and updated it by clicking “check for updates” via the iTunes button. However, keep in mind that the 4.3.5 version update is meant for the AT&T iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPad 2 and iPod Touch devices (3rd and 4th generation devices only). Users on the Verizon network will also get the update but it will be labeled as 4.2.10. Due to the nature of the update, this certainly ranks as high-priority.

iPhone 5 to launch in second week of September, iPad 3 to follow later in the year?

According to a report by China Times, the iPhone 5 will be released in the second week of September with 4 million units set to hit the streets at launch. The same source also claims that the iPad 3 has been delayed until after Thanksgiving due to component shortages.

This release date for the iPhone 5 does seem like a popular choice with many rumors now pointing to a September launch. This would also coincide with the fall release of iOS 5; although the official start of fall this year is September 23. We also know that Apple is recruiting temporary sales staff throughout the UK, starting in mid August. This would allow them to be trained to Apple’s exacting standards, prior to the iPhone 5 launch.

The delay to the iPad 3 is a little more mystifying, not quite sure how an unannounced product that is rumored to be released outside of its normal product refresh cycle can be delayed!

The China Times has a hit and miss record with Apple rumors so take this one with the usual pinch of salt. It does however have close links with Apple’s supply chain in China.

Apple iPad 2 Display Dock is here

There are many users out there who belong to the Apple eco system and own the iPad 2, the iPhone and the iPod Touch. If you are tech-geek or an Apple fanatic, someday you will come up with the problem of managing your devices. Now that problem is solved thanks to the Apple iPad 2 Display dock that will allow you to use all three of your favorite Apple devices.

Apple prides itself for its manufacturing technique and the iPad 2 Display Dock does a lot credit to this ideology. It features a high quality, custom milled, hand polished clear acrylic. It sound like they made a “Mercedes-Benz” version of the display dock. The functionality is also impressive because it comes with two ports for the best viewing angle for the iPad 2. The iPod Touch and the iPhone can also be attached via 2 more additional ports. A second version will allow you to only attach your iPad 2 and features adhesives to keep it in place. This makes sense if you have already invested a lot of money on docking accessories for your iPhone and iPod. However, if you want convenience then the first model might still be a good idea.

Overall, the iPad 2 Display Dock measures 10 x 9 x 1.25 inches and weighs in at 2 pounds. It also comes with slots for charging cables and headphones. However, what really sets this dock apart from its competitors is the sheer elegance and dedication that has gone into crafting it.

The 3-in-one Apple iPad dock, which also allows you to attach your iPhone and iPad, will cost $74.95. Meanwhile, the iPad only display dock will cost $69.97. As mentioned earlier, what you choose really depends on your viewing habits. If you want all your devices kept neatly in place then this would be ideal. However, if you generally use them apart, then perhaps a single iPad dock would be good enough.
