Jailbreak developer comex to intern at Apple

Jailbreak star comex to intern at Apple

Jailbreak developer Nicholas Allegra, better known as comex and best known for userland exploits that allowed untethered Jailbreaks, and the Jailbreakme.com web-based Jailbreak, has announced on Twitter that he’ll be taking an internship at Apple this fall.

It’s been really, really fun, but it’s also been a while and I’ve been getting bored.

So, the week after next I will be starting an internship with Apple.

Switching sides — going from mouse to cat — is an interesting move. Rather than finding exploits to help the Jailbreak community gain unrestricted access, he’ll be finding them to help Apple stop bad guys from getting it first (and hopefully keeping iOS malware effectively at zero.)

On behalf of the TiPb Nation, we want to wish comex well in his internship and future endeavors. And we want to wish the Jailbreak community, with or without comex, well in finding future exploits.

Steve Wozniak On Jobs’ Resignation

href="http://cdn.everythingicafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Screen-Shot-2011-08-25-at-8.12.30-AM.jpg">class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23314" title="Screen Shot 2011-08-25 at 8.12.30 AM" src="http://cdn.everythingicafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Screen-Shot-2011-08-25-at-8.12.30-AM.jpg" alt="" width="635" height="357" />Steve Jobs’ old partner in crime Steve Wozniak href="http://www.bloomberg.com/video/74391682/">was on Bloomberg last night, and talked about the resignation. Unfortunately, the video embed won’t work on Everything iCafe, so head over to Bloomberg to watch it. It’s only about 10 minutes long, and the Woz has some pretty interesting things to say about Jobs’ style, his past, and his return to Apple back in 2007.

As much as Jobs’ perfectionism and design savvy defined how we use Macs, it was Wozniak who did the nitty-gritty work, and it’s incredibly interesting to hear the views of someone who was with him from those early days.

Jobs Incredible Attention To Detail As Told By Google’s Vic Gundotra

Plenty has already been written about how Apple will do just fine in the post-Steve Jobs era. Steve’s DNA runs through Apple and the roadmap of products over the next few years have likely been mapped out. That’s not to say that Apple will not miss Jobs incredible attention to detail. Google’s Vic Gundotra tells an incredible story titled href="https://plus.google.com/107117483540235115863/posts/gcSStkKxXTw">Icon Ambulance that provides some insight into just how involved Jobs was as CEO of Apple. Steve will be missed at Apple, but in ways many of us likely will never notice. Have you ever noticed the gradient in the second ‘O’ in Google on your iPhone?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers To Use iPad Playbooks

href="http://cdn.everythingicafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/c4s_bucspad082511_188310c.jpg">class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23343" title="c4s_bucspad082511_188310c" src="http://cdn.everythingicafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/c4s_bucspad082511_188310c.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="171" />Rather than give each of their players an old-fashioned paper playbook, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to go high-tech, href="http://www.tampabay.com/sports/football/bucs/article1187879.ece">and go with iPads instead. In addition to being a rather nifty bonus for the players, a digital playbook is substantially less bulky than a paper one, and would allow additional tools like animated play diagrams, and videos of old games.

So instead of a wad of paper the size of a phone book, all 90 players of the team will be getting brand, shiny, new iPad 2s.

“It’s crazy how much technology has changed the game,” second-year safety Cody Grimm said. “Back in the day, I think probably the whole team had to sit down with a projector and a reel, and watch the film together. They’d have the whole offense in the same meeting room. Now we all have our own iPad. Stuff that we used to come in here to see, we can sit on our couch at home and have access to it 24-7. It’s awesome.
