Taito To Make iNVADERCADE iPad Cabinet

Taito is the company best known for birthing the Space Invaders series, one of the most historically important video gaming franchises. The iNVADERCADE appears to go back to the series’ roots, as it only has a joystick and a single button — making it all but useless for any games that aren’t the original Space Invaders.

How about price? Well, it looks like it’ll go for ¥15,800, close to $205, when it debuts on October 11. That’s right, more than $200 for an arcade cabinet that’ll only function with a handful of games at best. On the plus side, it has built in speakers and functions as a charger.

At least the panelling is awesome, right?
