Should you get an iPhone 4S?

Should you upgrade from whatever you have now to an iPhone 4S? The answer to that depends entirely on what exactly you have now, or whether any of the features of iPhone 4S are compelling enough to makes it worth upgrading regardless of what you have now.

Read on for the full breakdown.

If you’re currently using an original iPhone, iPhone 3G, or iPhone 3GS than your contract has likely expired and you can get an iPhone 4S at full, subsidize price. You can also get an iPhone 4S on Verizon or Sprint in the US, which wasn’t an option for any of the pre-iPhone 4S models.

The improvements to iPhone 4S for iPhone 3GS owners are significant. For iPhone 2G or iPhone 3G owners, they’re stratospheric. Retina display, a much better camera that shoots HD video, silky smooth multitasking, incredible gaming power, FaceTime video calling, Siri voice control — the list goes on and on.

Also, you get to keep your apps, you maintain easy access to any iTunes music, TV shows, and movies you might have bought, and your cables stay compatible.

iPhone 4S is almost a no-brainer update from those early iPhone models.

If you’re currently rocking an Phone 4, the answer isn’t as easy. You’re probably still on contract with the carrier, so you may not be able to get the fully subsidized price unless you qualify for an early upgrade or you lean on them and their retention departments. There’s also not a huge difference in functionality — more speed, a better camera, Siri voice control, availability on Sprint, and world-phone CDMA roaming being the major differentiators.

iPhone 4S is not a compelling upgrade for most iPhone 4 owners unless you really want or need a specific new feature.

If your current phone of choice runs Android, Windows Phone, or webOS or is a BlackBerry, here’s where it gets tricky. If you’re not on contract, it’s easier. If you are, you need to weigh the pros and cons and see if the features you get outweigh the penalties you’ll have to pay.

That said, you get the most powerful web browser on mobile, the biggest app ecosystem, the least carrier-controlled experience (no crapware, no feature lockouts, no random casing changes) and a product that invented the “just works” cliché.

If you’ve only been using another platform because you were waiting for the 2011 iPhone on your choice of carrier — go get it.

If you like your current platform but are curious or considering the jump to iPhone 4S, wait until you can try one at the store and really get a feel for it.

Yes. Do it now.

(If you’re really hard up for up-front cash, consider a $99 iPhone 4 or free iPhone 3GS, but if you can scrape together the $199+ for an iPhone 4S, considering the contract will cost you ~$2000+ over two years, it’s not really much of a savings.)

Yes, iPhone 4S is HSPA+

There were rumors the 2011 iPhone would have an HSPA+ radio for faster download speeds but when Apple announced the iPhone 4S, while they said it would do 14.4 mbps, they only listed it as an HSPA device. Some don’t believe that anything under 21 mbps shouldn’t qualify as HSPA+, so iPhone 4S shouldn’t qualify. However, 3GPP release 7 doesn’t mandate that faster speeds are necessary to qualify as HSPA+ — a device can support any 3GPP release 7 feature and be classified as HSPA+. The Qualcomm chipset in iPhone 4S uses 3GPP features, and so it’s an HSPA+ radio, speed be damned.

So while iPhone 4S did indeed get its HSPA+, it didn’t get the 21 mbps or 42 mbps speed to go with it that many were hoping for. Also, Apple chose to neatly sidestep the whole 4G/fake 4G issue, so we won’t open that can of worms here either.

iOS 5 Leaked, Now Available

The iOS 5 Gold Master was href="http://www.everythingicafe.com/ios-5-goes-gm-starts-accepting-apps/2011/10/04/">just released to developers, a version that’s identical to what will be released as iOS 5.0 on October the 12th. There’s a rumor that you didn’t need a dev account to install the update, just the correct IPSW files. Well, said files href="http://www.lockergnome.com/ios/2011/10/05/how-to-upgrade-to-ios-5-right-now">have now leaked onto the internet, and if you’re willing to take your device’s life into your own hands, you can have iOS 5 a week early.

We’re not endorsing this, because frankly we’re only a week out from release, and from the comments we’re seeing some people are having real trouble getting this to work. It seems like you might neet an iTunes beta, too.

European iPhone 4S pricing round up

Apple has announced some of its European launch pricing for the iPhone 4S. The countries with pricing available are the United Kingdom, France and Germany. These are the countries that will get the iPhone on October 14 with pre-orders starting on October 7. The prices are for a SIM free unlocked iPhone 4S and cell service would have to be taken out separately.

Daily Tip: How to Jailbreak iOS 5 GM with RedSn0w 0.9.9b3

If you’ve got the iOS 5 GM seed on your iOS device, you can now jailbreak via RedSn0w 0.9.9b3. This one is also tethered like the previous beta versions of RedSn0w for iOS 5.

Be advised that not all jailbreak apps and tweaks have been updated to support iOS 5. If you’re alright with running tethered and don’t mind a few bugs here and there, follow along for a quick walkthrough.

By this point, almost anyone jailbreaking is already familiar with RedSn0w and how it works. It’s not too much different this time except that RedSn0w has a nifty little tool to automatically detect the iOS 5 GM IPSW which makes the process a bit smoother.

And I can’t say this enough times, if your device is not listed above, please do not attempt to jailbreak it on any version of iOS 5! And if you rely on a software unlock and don’t have an older boot rom, stay away from iOS 5 altogether.

After you have iOS 5 GM installed on your device, your device backed up, and your version of iTunes upgraded to the newest beta version, follow the steps below to jailbreak.

RedSn0w has also thrown in a little bonus for Windows users. You can copy the redsnow.exe file to your desktop or anywhere you like and rename it something like justboot.exe. As long as you have the word “boot” in the file name you can just double click that file to perform a quick tethered boot with RedSn0w.

People have been talking about how the current Siri voice leaves a lot to be desired. We joked on [iPhone Live that we might want, Darth Vader, Mr. T or Laura Croft as the voice. But I think that we missed out on the most fitting voice of the iPhone. The greatest memorial to Steve Jobs and all of those who loved him so dearly would be to allow Steve Jobs to live on as being the voice of Siri.

Steve has always been the heart of Apple and the iPhone and it only serves purpose that he also be its voice. Yes it would take a long time to work through but wouldn’t it be worth it?

And if Apple somehow feels it’s not appropriate, perhaps Jailbreak developers could make it so?

Did Apple delay Facebook’s new iPhone app, iPad app and iOS web platform?

Facebook has reportedly had their iPad app ready to go for some time and may have been planning its announcement around Apple’s Lets Talk iPhone event this past Tuesday. Same goes for their iOS web platform Project Spartan. Robert Scoble suggested last night that Steve Jobs passing may have had something to do with Facebook’s non-announcement.

Today a guy I know at Facebook told me that Apple just “went dark” this weekend and stopped answering emails and phone calls (they had amazing new iPhone and iPad apps and a new developer platform all ready for announcing). Folks inside Facebook thought they had done something massively wrong. No, they hadn’t. Truth is you had something deeper to deal with.

If that’s the case, and Facebook really does have a new Facebook for iPhone, Facebook for iPad, and web platform for iOS ready to go, could we still see it soon?

Delivery will be as early as launch day, October 14, for buyers of the first batch of Apple.com-reserved inventory. Apple will sell out of iPhone 4S devices slated for release day delivery quickly if last year is any indication. Very quickly. Within minutes. That is, unless the stock has been significantly increased this year; demand has proven to be too high for the first batch to last more than a day, if not an hour, regardless of size though. Additionally, users cited many errors occurring during the ordering process and also 1-800-MY-APPLE seizing to offer assistance due to extremely high call volume when iPhone 4 pre-orders began.

With 2-7 times better performance (especially for graphic-intensive apps) and a high quality 8-megapixel/1080p camera, iPhone 4S has been completely redesigned internally. The addition of Siri, a virtual personal assistant that can be talked to as if it were a human, makes the purchase that much more compelling.

Make sure to update the information on your Apple account in preparation for pre-orders so that the ordering process can be completed in as little time as possible. It seems fitting to end with a “good luck…”

Sprint Already Accepting Pre-Orders For the iPhone 4

Sprint is betting heavily on the iPhone, reportedly agreeing to target="_blank" href="http://www.iphonealley.com/news/sprint-may-exclusively-get-iphone-5-in-a-multi-billion-dollar-deal-updated-iphone-4s5-feature-lists">purchase 30 million handsets over the next four years. The carrier got to work quickly by accepting pre-orders for the onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/sprint.com/index_p.html');" href="http://sprint.com/index_p.html">iPhone 4 on Thursday, and announcing their unlimited data plan.

“Sprint’s Simply Everything Plan is the only plan from a national carrier to offer truly unlimited calling, data and text for just $99.99 per month plus the required $10 Premium Data add-on charge. The Mobile Hotspot option will be available for an additional $29.99 per month supporting up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously.”

The cost of Sprint’s data plan ranges from $69 a month to $99 a month, and each plan requires you to pay an additional $10 premium data add-on charge.

New and existing Sprint customers can order the iPhone 4 starting today for $99, and the iPhone 4S at 12:01 AM PST on Friday. The iPhone 4S is $199.99 for the 16GB model, $299.99 for the 32GB model and $399.99 for the 64GB model. All prices require a new or upgraded contract.

The iPhone 4S features Apple’s dual-core A5 chip, 1080p HD resolution video recording, and their new voice command assistant Siri. Sprint will be shipping the iPhone 4 and 4S along with Verizon and AT&T starting on October 14.

Sprint now allowing iPhone 4 pre-orders, iPhone 4S tomorrow

Sprint has started allowing customers to pre-order the 8GB iPhone 4 in either black or white flavors for $99.99. Sprint will also begin pre-orders for the new iPhone 4S starting tomorrow, likely at 12:01am PDT.

According to the description on Sprint’s website, pre-orders will be available “while supplies last” and will ship to customers by the 14th or 15th of October. Customers planning to pre-order may want to head over to their website to secure their order in case supplies run dry.

Sprint will still offer iPhone customers unlimited data with plans starting at $69.99, and this may have some impact on new iPhone users trying to decide on a carrier, given the likes of AT&T and Verizon no longer offer unlimited data plans.

The World Mourns The Passing Of Steve Jobs

We all knew he was sick but his demise comes as a surprise even so. I’m not going to write an obituary — there are others out there who are far better authors than I who have already done so. I’m not going to spin this into a crass grab for pageviews either, as easy as it would be to push out dozens of little pieces on this tragedy in order to get hits.

The man was a visionary. A bit of a dictator by all accounts, but nonetheless one of the greatest people the planet has ever seen for actually understanding how people interact with technology, and how to make that interaction better.

What’s in a name: iPhone 4S vs. iPhone 5 and what’s next?

With the announcement of the iPhone 4S, many people are saying they’ll skip this generation of iPhone and wait for the iPhone 5. But is there really a difference between what Apple announced as iPhone 4S and what they would have announced as an iPhone 5? If they’d used that name instead, would reaction have been any different? And now that they’ve gone with iPhone 4S, does that mean you’ll have to wait until 2012 for an iPhone 5? Yes and no. There will no doubt be a new iPhone in fall 2012, but I do doubt Apple will call it “iPhone 5″.

Let’s take a look at the names of each of the iPhones that have been released thus far:

It needs to be pointed out that the 3G and 3GS names had nothing to do with the generations of the the iPhone. These suffixes were named after the cellular technology associated with those devices. The added ‘S’ was Apple’s way of saying that the iPhone 3GS was a faster, new and improved iPhone 3G.

Then came the iPhone 4. Now, this iPhone was named after its generation. The fourth generation iPhone with the name iPhone 4 made perfect sense. In fact, many assumed, myself included, that Apple would be using this naming scheme from then on out.

Then they announced the iPhone 4S. Just as with the iPhone 3GS, the ‘S’ implies that the iPhone 4S is a faster, new and improved version of the iPhone 4 – which it is. It’s a perfectly fine name, but it throws a wrench into their naming pattern.

Some might argue that it only makes sense to name the 2012 iPhone the iPhone 5, when in fact, it doesn’t make any sense. What exactly would the 5 stand for? Nothing. So what then, will the 6th generation iPhone be called?

Perhaps iPhone 6? No, this doesn’t fit the scheme, because it skips 5. What about iPhone LTE? Quite possibly, but this may leave out some networks who aren’t quite yet on board with LTE. My prediction? iPhone. Just iPhone.

Look at the rest of Apple’s product line. There’s the iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPod, then iPhone 4S. The iPhone 4S sticks out like a sore thumb, and Apple must be planning to drop the suffix to the name eventually. I believe the perfect time for them to make that move will be with the sixth generation iPhone.

This is, of course, is my own speculation. Now tell me yours. What’s your prediction for the next iPhone’s name?

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple and the guiding mind behind iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, iTunes, and an astounding amount of other modern technological marvels, passed away yesterday at the age of 53.

Statements and stories have flooded in from around the world and all over the internet. Below, the staff of TiPb and the Mobile Nations network share their thoughts, memories, and respect for the man who shaped the modern consumer electronic world.

If there is anything that we can learn from the death of Steve Jobs it’s that we need to make sure we live for the moment and do as much as we can with the time we are given. Though Steve is no longer with us, his legacy will carry on. I did not expect to be as affected by his passing as I have been. There is something that made me feel secure with having Steve at Apple, and his spirit can not be replaced.

We’re here to put a dent in the universe.

You did, Steve. You did.


There isn’t much I could say about Steve’s influence on the world that hasn’t been said better already. I wasn’t expecting to be as impacted by his passing as I found myself last night and again this morning. But I was, and I started to think about why I felt the way I did. I came to the conclusion that everything I do today – from the actual work I do on a daily basis, to the way I think about the quality of what we create, to the places I want us to go as a company – has in some perceivable way been shaped by Steve. A child of the 80s, I loved Macs, and when I was old enough to afford my own, it was around the same time he came back to Apple and began to reshape the face of the company. Since that point, I’ve watched as his vision brought new life not only to Apple, but to the entire technology industry. My formative young adult years were spent in awe of the places he was taking us, and with each release, we inched closer toward a better way of doing things. There were hiccups along the way, stops and starts, but the vision always persevered in spite of everything. Now, with the mobile landscape looking the way it does, thinking back to those early machines and the original Macintosh’s goal of bringing computing to everyone, it’s clear that he succeeded in that intention. Every single day, the good things he wanted us to feel as we use our technology touch my life in quietly profound ways. And every single day forward, I will pause and think about how compromise was not a part of that plan. Steve’s guiding principle was to do great things, and while we don’t always succeed at that, neither did he – and it’s the journey (and the willingness to keep pushing forward) that really matters anyway. I will genuinely miss him, and I thank him for everything he did in the name of the user.


I’ve immersed myself in technology ever since I can remember. I was always fascinated by the way things work and how things could be better. Steve Jobs understood that things can “always” be better. He was a visionary and his own worst critic. I always admired that in him. Back in my college days I remember seeing the Stanford Commencement speech on the internet. One quote stuck with me from then until now –

“Everyday when I wake up, I look into the mirror and ask myself, “If I was going to die tomorrow, would I still want to do what I’m going to do today?”, and if the answer is no too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”

It’s a quote I’ve tried to live up to. Since then, I’ve almost completely turned a hobby and a passion into a career, I’d say that quote has impacted my life in ways I’m not even capable of explaining. So I’ll continue doing what I love to do as that’s the best way I know to honor one of most creative minds of this century. He may be gone but so many of the ideas and innovations he brought to life will continue to inspire generations to come. You will be sorely missed by all.


As much as we like to poke at Apple whenever we get the chance on CrackBerry, Steve Jobs was an amazing visionary and inspiring leader who made a significant impact upon the world in which we live. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones.


Keith NewmanSay what you will about Steve Jobs… whether you loved him or hated him, it is undeniable of the impact he had on our modern society. His return to Apple marked a new era of design and functionality the rest of the industry wished they could capture and often tried to replicate. Sure he was known to fanboys as the savior and to the haters as the devil but his business savvy and cutthroat business decisions created an empire. You will always see his true friends speak dearly of him and that is what strikes me most. He was a guy who was doing a job that was fueled on his dreams and imagination; they might have been absurd to conventional thinking and against every fabric of sound business models, yet, he still prevailed on top of it all. I offer his family and friends my condolences during this hard time. Having lost my mother at 47 from cancer, the thing that helped me through it all was remembering her during the strongest periods of her life and always keeping that in my heart. Steve, thank you for your innovations that keep pushing our world closer together through technology.


Explaining to my 5-year-old daughter what I was watching on TV (and, Jesus H. Christ is CNN horrible), Mia, who uses an old iPhone 3G as an iPod, asks me:

“Daddy, since he died, will my iPhone not work anymore?”

No, Mia, it most certainly will.

Between last night and today, I have heard so many people state what Steve Jobs meant to them and their lives and it has truly been amazing. I’ve always recognized that we all live and we all die but I never realized the passing of Steve Jobs would have this much affect on myself. I work on a MacBook Pro all day long, I write about iPhones and iPads often and much of my livelihood as I know it — is because of the products him and the folks at Apple have created. Steve Jobs was simply put.. amazing. I encourage you all to donate to your local Cancer society.


It’s difficult to find the right words to describe some of the emotions that I’ve been overwhelmed with since learning of Steve Job’s passing. Feelings of sadness, nostalgia, deep inspiration and happiness all come to the surface when watching some of Steve’s greatest moments on stage. He had such a way about him. That all-too-magical reality distortion field. I don’t believe we will have another opportunity to see a man as great as Steve Jobs emerge within our lifetimes.

For all of this, I am truly grateful that I was able to be on this earth to watch Steve work his magic with Apple, NeXT and Pixar, bringing amazing products to the world and truly revolutionizing the tech industry. And more than once. His legacy will live on forever through Apple and I’m sure we’ll all think of Steve every time we use one of his products. We’ll miss you, Steve. Thanks for giving us the world.


My first computer was an Apple II. My first website was created on the classic Mac OS. Day in and day out, my work, my play, and my life is enabled by Macs and iPhones and iPads and the apps they make possible. Steve Jobs inspired and informed all of that. He is indelibly and inexorably at the heart of modern technology.

We are not now that strength which in old days

Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;

One equal temper of heroic hearts,

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will

To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

A master story teller, he methodically crafted a legend not of words or epics but of consumer electronics and software. He is why Apple is the brand and passion it is today, why industrial design matters, and why software is increasingly accessible to the mainstream.

He stood at the crossroads of technology and liberal arts, of glass and aluminum, of bits and bytes, and by sheer act of will forged them into something greater than any of their parts — tools that work for us rather than requiring us to work for them.

Relentless visionary, consummate showman, genius businessman. His loss hurts but his life will inspire, always.

The end of act two came far too soon, and act three suddenly, brutally sooner still. Part of me wonders what another 30 years could have brought us, but the other part knows what Jobs himself elucidated so well:

Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

    Sprint Puts iPhone 4 On Pre-Orders, iPhone 4S Starts Tonight

This is a strictly “while supplies last” situation, but in all honesty I can’t imagine them selling out with much speed. They only seem to have the 8GB $99 version, not the 16B or 32GB editions, which I assume are technically still only allowed to be offered by AT&T and Verizon.

    Just like the iPhone 4S, this phone will hit your hands on October 14th (or possibly October 15th), but unlike the new one you can fork out for it now and miss the midnight rush.

     

    The iPhone 4S only has 512MB of RAM, same as the iPhone 4?

    Game developers testing Apple A5-chip equipped iPhone 4?

    As is usual with Apple, they’ve not mentioned the amount of RAM in iPhone 4S at either the Let’s Talk iPhone event or in the specs online. Rumors have suggested it has 1GB of RAM but it appears that it may only have 512MB, the same amount as the iPhone 4 and the iPad 2. The information comes from an interview with Chair Entertainment’s creative director Donald Mustard who had been involved in the development of Infinity Blade 2 demo shown off at the event.

    I’m still shocked that, with the iPhone 4S, I’m literally running around with a 1080p video camera in my pocket, with an eight megapixel camera, 64GB of hard drive space and an A5 chip with 512MB of memory. This is a really powerful computer, right?

    Now before we get too upset by the amount of RAM, let’s remember that the iPad 2 has the same A5 processor and 512MB of RAM. It certainly doesn’t hang around when it comes to number crunching and gaming performance. One question does spring to mind though, why is Siri not coming to the iPad 2? There doesn’t appear to be any specification anomalies to prevent it from working and it would certainly be a great addition to the iPad 2.

    Steve Jobs, the eponymous biography of Apple’s late co-founder penned by Walter Isaacson, has been moved up and will now arrive on shelves real and virtual on Oct. 24. What’s more:

    According to a person familiar with the matter, Isaacson last interviewed Jobs four weeks ago, right before, and right after he stepped down from his post as the CEO of Apple. Jobs indicated at that time that he knew he was going to die soon. The scene will appear at the end of the book.

    iPhone 4S: What it turned out to be

    Over the past year, ever since the introduction of the iPhone 4, we have been obsessing over the release of the iPhone 5. We made a host of predictions regarding revolutionary new hardware and software features but unfortunately, not many of our high-end expectations came to pass. Most analysts did not even consider the possibility of Apple launched an enhanced version of the iPhone 4 rather than a radically designed iPhone 5. However, there are some important features embedded in the iPhone 4S that deserve some attention.

    Most obvious of all, is the fact that Apple has finally launched a 64GB version of the iPhone, which came as a bit of a surprise since it seemed to be more inclined towards focusing on cloud storage. Either way, this is welcome move. Moreover, by maintaining the original screen-size, the iPhone 4S becomes fully compatible with the wide range of accessories that were originally created for the iPhone 4.  This means that you will not have to spend hundreds of dollars updating your accessories if you were to buy the iPhone 4S.

    The new hardware brings it to the level of competing Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC Sensation. However, what worries analysts most is the fact by the time Apple releases the iPhone 5, it would have fallen behind its main rivals. For now, sceptics argue that Apple has fallen in line with the pack but optimists argue that Apple still leads, albeit with a thinner margin.

    The most enduring part of the new iPhone maybe the new software upgrades which come with apps like “Siri” and the iOS 5. However, as critics already point out, Android has long featured many of the new iOS 5’s so called “amazing” features; so much so, that it is now taken for granted by most Android users. The real effect of the iPhone may become apparent to users within the next few weeks, when we get to take the iPhone 4S for a real spin.

    Sometimes, not always, he’d invite me in to see certain big products before he unveiled them to the world. He may have done the same with other journalists. We’d meet in a giant boardroom, with just a few of his aides present, and he’d insist — even in private — on covering the new gadgets with cloths and then uncovering them like the showman he was, a gleam in his eye and passion in his voice. We’d then often sit down for a long, long discussion of the present, the future, and general industry gossip.

    The iPhone 4S : features at a glance

    After almost a year of speculation, the new iPhone is here. Most analysts got it wrong though because what is on display is not the hotly anticipated iPhone 5 but rather, an upgraded iPhone 4: the iPhone 4S. While it may not be everything Apple’s fanatics and critics expected it to be -Apple’s share value briefly fell at the news of the announcement- it is not entirely a lost cause. What is important to note is that Apple has potentially opened a new avenue of competition with the unveiling of Siri, an AI-like app that plays the role of personal assistant, and iCloud, an online storage service.

    However, on the hardware side, people were bitterly disappointed that iPhone did not incorporate a radical new design even though it does feature new and improved hardware specs. The iPhone 4S will be further complimented by the revamped iOS 5, which will be released later in the week.

    There are two ways of interpreting the iPhone 4S: On the one hand, it has begun to shift focus from hardware specs to more user-friendly features, which are increasingly becoming more important to users. After all, what is the point in having a super-fast smart phone if it has to be used pretty much the same way since its inception? On the other hand, critics claim that this is the first time the iPhone has fallen behind its rivals. For instance, both HTC and Samsung have released amazing phones and it is extremely likely that within the next six months they will have a strong lead over Apple in terms of hardware performance.

     

    As mentioned earlier, the only thing that Apple can count on to stay ahead (as opposed to staying with the pack) is its amazing collection of apps. Unfortunately, Apple’s claims are yet to be tested properly. Ultimately, even though Apple has failed to shock and awe its followers, it has still proved its ability to innovate and compete with the toughest competition.
