Apple Posts Full Size Photos Taken With iPhone 4S

One of the big new features of the iPhone 4S is an overhauled camera, with more lens elements, a wider aperture, 8MP backlit sensor, image stabilization and more. So do you want to see how the images actually look? href="http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/#zoomerlay-gallery1">Apple’s uploaded a stack of unedited images to their website, so you can peer into the depths of the photos.

If you’re up for pixel-peeping, you can get a feel for what sort of images this thing will take. Unsurprisingly given the sensor size, up close and personal the shot looks a bit blotchy, but that’s what you get for staring at something at 100%. There’s also some color fringing and blown highlights.

That said, the depth of field is great on some of the shots, and the color is bright and pops like nobody’s business.

In case anybody but me cares, it’s a 35mm equivalent lens on that thing, which is a kinda nice focal length.
