Siri Hacked, Working on Jailbroken iPhone 4

Apple designed Siri so that it would work only on the iPhone 4S. Nothing like a challenge of epic proportions for the jailbreak community, who appear to have cracked the code this evening. Steven Troughton Smith and chpwn have managed to get Siri working on a jailbroken iPhone 4 and a current-generation iPod touch. This means they have successfully found a way around the authentication issues that plagued previous attempts at getting Siri working on non-iPhone 4S devices.

In order to get this working, the team moved compiled code components from the iPhone 4S to other devices. It’s not clear if and when this will be released for public consumption.
