Siri Powered Apple Television In The Works?

href="http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/10/27/whats-really-next-for-apple-in-television/">According to the New York Times, that quote we heard recently href="http://www.everythingicafe.com/apple-television-set-rumor-rears-its-head-again/2011/10/24/">about Steve Jobs “cracking” the TV riddle wasn’t about hardware, but software. They argue that the breakthrough Jobs had with how to make an Apple television work is in fact Siri, the widely discussed iPhone 4S voice controls system. This would work in the place of a traditional and clunky remote.

The report says that Jobs had been working on the project for years as he saw the industry as “totally broken,” but that the interface was the problem.

Right now, it appears that the biggest hurdle is the hardware, as all the internals Apple would want to use would boost the price.

Does this mean I could just tell my TV to aimlessly channel surf for hours on end while regretting a wasted life? Because that’d save me a ton of effort.
