Starbucks has a new app that utilizes the magic of augmented reality to inject some holiday spirit into your day. Here’s how it works. Download the Starbucks Cup Magic app from the App Store and visit your local Starbucks. There are assorted items that feature a character, these items include red cups, bags of Christmas Blend and others. Here’s the fun part, they come to life through augmented reality, right on your iPhone.
The app also promises holiday offers and allows for sending eGifts, in case anyone would like to send this author an early Christmas gift.
It’s free, fun and jammed with holiday spirt, but it will only work with the iPhone 3GS or later. Those with an iPhone 3G or original iPhone are stuck with plain ole’ reality and a good cup o’joe.
