The Apple Samsung iPhone War Goes Back to South Korea

It’s not over yet… Apple has taken their Samsung patent infringement fight back to Samsung’s home court in South Korea. In a suit filed with the Seoul Central District Court on June 22, Apple alleges that the Samsung Galaxy S, Droid Charge, Infuse 4G, and many other Samsung devices copy the design and technology of the third-generation iPhone.

Apple originally sued Samsung in April claiming that their Galaxy products “slavishly” copied onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.ipadngravy.com');" target="_blank" title="iPad" href="http://www.ip4help.com">iPad and iPhone technologies. Samsung retaliated by filing their own patent infringement lawsuits in three different countries (Germany, South Korea and Japan).

“We will continue to actively defend and protect our intellectual property,” Suwon, South Korea-based Samsung said in an e-mailed statement.

When contacted by Bloomberg News, an Apple spokesperson pointed to Apple’s April 18 statement that said Samsung “blatantly” copied its technologies and designs.

This one looks far from over.
