If you’re less than impressed with Apple’s Back To School promo this year — a $100 iTunes gift card, rather than the free iPod Touches of years previous — then you may find some respite from a big blue box. According to TUAW, Best Buy will match the deal with the same amount of their own, so a $100 Best Buy gift certificate — which can be used on anything in store, including iTunes gift cards if you really want. But what that really means is that you can put those funds to getting a new mouse, a cover for your laptop, an iPhone case, or just about anything else.
We’re not sure how legit this offer is. TUAW reports that it’s not an advertised deal, so you may have to sweet talk a sales rep in order to get it, plus I’m not sure if they offer education pricing. Still, it might be worth looking into if you’re in the market for something new.
