Check Out What You Can Do With An iBook

When some people want to create awesome interactive books, they go the route of a standalone app — but it turns out that many of the awesome features you can pack into an app can also be used within iBooks by using a combination of HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. The demo above is for “KADATH, the guide of the unknown city” an ebook based on the city mentioned in HP Lovecraft’s work, and it has some very cool ideas — including losing your sanity the more you read, which turns the text blurrier and harder to distinguish — a very Lovecraftian concept.

This probably won’t work too well on your e-ink reader, but for something like the iPad? It’s very cool, but without feeling too flashy or distracting.
