The Facebook situation on the iPad is pretty sad. You can use the HTML5 version in-browser, but it’s not as snappy as a native app; upscaling the iPhone one is simply hideous; and third party apps like Friendly are often buggy and feature poor. Relief may finally be in sight, as the NYT is reporting that Facebook is finally set to release an iPad app.
People briefed on Facebook’s plans say that in coming weeks the company plans to introduce a free iPad application that has been carefully designed and optimized for the tablet.
According to their sources, it has been in the works for about a year and has a slick design.
