According to Bloomberg, Apple may be considering picking up internet streaming video site Hulu:
Apple Inc., with $76.2 billion in cash and securities on its books, is considering making a bid for the Hulu online video service, two people with knowledge of the auction said.
Apple, the world’s second-most-valuable company, is in early talks that may lead to an offer for Hulu, said the people, who weren’t authorized to speak publicly.
Hulu has had a troubled life, with difficulty getting studio support and then trouble monetizing their customer based — leading to the dreadful Hulu+, which still makes you watch ads, even though you’re paying to see the shows.
If Apple did decide to pick up Hulu, that would include a major set of show licenses. Just think about how many new titles would come to iTunes…
