Atari Teases Atari Arcade Controller For iPad

style="text-align: left;">href="http://cdn.everythingicafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/introducing-atari-arcade-white.png">class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23480" title="introducing-atari-arcade-white" src="http://cdn.everythingicafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/introducing-atari-arcade-white.png" alt="" width="569" height="360" />We all love the href="http://www.everythingicafe.com/?s=icade">iCade, but at $99 it’s a rather pricey addition to your iPad accessories. Atari has just updated some software to tease a new, Atari branded alternative, and we’re hoping it’ll be a cheaper version of the iCade. As spotted by href="http://www.macrumors.com/2011/09/05/atari-to-release-an-official-atari-arcade-joystick-for-ipad">MacRumors, a recent update href="http://appshopper.com/games/ataris-greatest-hits">to Atari’s Greatest Hits includes the following info:

style="text-align: left;">• New and improved control schemes/> • OpenFeint integration/> • Optimized iPad layouts with larger playfields/> • Better multiplayer connectivity/> • Compatibility with the Discovery Bay Games Duo Controller/> • Play with the official Atari® Arcade – Duo™ Powered joystick. http://bit.ly/atariarcade

style="text-align: left;">And that bitly link at the bottom href="http://www.discoverybaygames.com/appcessories/atari-arcade-duo-powered-joystick">points here, and the Duo powered Atari Arcade.

style="text-align: left;">Here’s hoping that it’s decent quality and affordable, because if they can get this thing in at a decent price point, it’d make an absolutely awesome stocking stuffer.
