One of the bigger rumors about the upcoming iPhone 5 launch is that href="http://www.everythingicafe.com/?s=sprint">it’ll land on Sprint too, expanding Apple’s phone into at three of the USA’s four major carriers (and who knows, maybe T-Mobile as well). Building on that rumor href="http://www.beatweek.com/news/9243-sprint-preps-for-iphone-5-by-installing-repeaters-inside-apple-stores/">is a report that Sprint is installing signal repeaters inside Apple Stores. BeatWeek’s source told them:
“One thing I can tell you is that the electrical contractor that I work for is contracted to install Sprint “repeaters” at The Domain. There is a Apple Store at The Domain. One of the “repeaters” is to be installed INSIDE the Apple Store. There is to be a total of 5 “repeaters” installed. The equipment is CDMA and 4G (Sprint)”
It was recently rumored that href="http://www.everythingicafe.com/is-apple-installing-lte-readers-in-their-stores/2011/08/16/">AT&T and Verizon were installing LTE repeaters/readers in Apple Stores too. These repeaters are often installed to give strong connections for customers in the store, making sure that their phone works its best while still on the premises, and they don’t notice that they usually only get 1 bar until they leave.
