Way back in 2009, it was decided that every phone sold in Europe should href="http://www.everythingicafe.com/un-body-approves-universal-phone-charger/2009/10/23/">work with the same charging cable — a universal microUSB, so you wouldn’t need a special proprietary cord at all. Apple signed the accord, and now two years later we’ve finally spotted the adapter they’re using. It’s the href="http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MD099?mco=MjU5MjAwODM">Apple iPhone Micro USB Adapter and it’ll set you back £8.00, and as far as we know it’s Europe only. That said, hopefully it’s on its way to the USA, and we can reduce our everyday carry by one cord. I’m much happier to carry an adapter than another cable that’ll just get tangled.
Here’s the description:
Use this adapter to connect iPhone to a micro USB cable to sync and charge, or to a micro USB charger to charge.
