AT&T has no idea what 4G is. href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4g">4G has a very strict definition which no current phones currently meet, and instead all of the current carriers just use it to advertise anything faster than 3G. AT&T especially has used it without any sort of network upgrades, and now href="http://thisismynext.com/2011/10/07/iphone-4s-4g-indicator/">they want to slap 4G on your iPhone 4S, even though Apple specifically said they don’t want to call it that.
href="http://gizmodo.com/5847762/att-wants-to-make-its-iphone-4s-the-iphone-4g">AT&T has confirmed that they’re attempting to get this pushed through and are working with this with Apple, but I can’t be the only one who hopes Apple stops their attempts. Sure, all AT&T wants is a little notice on your phone that notes when you’re going much faster than 3G, but calling it 4G is disingenuous at best.
