iFixit is in the middle of an iPhone 4S teardown and is constantly updating the page with new information as they strip the newest iPhone down to its constituent parts. While it’s a little early to get all of the details out of them, a few interesting points have popped up. The battery is better than that of the iPhone 4, but because of a different connection you can’t put the newer battery in the older model for longer life — sorry hackers.
When they finish this teardown, we’ll have a better idea of the full stats on the device, including RAM confirmation (though we’re pretty sure it’s 512MB) and what all the different parts that go into it are.
