Twas the night before iPhonemas, when all through the campus
/> Not an employee was stirring, not even Steve Jobs.
/> The inventory was cleared in Apple Stores with care,
/> In hopes that new iPhones would soon be there.
The early adopters were nestled all snug with their iPads,
/> While visions of iOS 5 danced in their heads,
/> And mamma with her iPod, and I with my iPhone 4,
/> Had just told the rumor mill to go on a long fall’s nap
When out on the keynote stage there arose such a clatter,
/> I sprang from the desk to see what was the chatter.
/> Away to the Mac I flew like a flash,
/> Opened live blogs and threw my iPhone 4 in the trash
The light on the glimmer of the brand new phone
/> Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
/> When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
/> But an iPhone 4S, and eight bumper cases.
With Tim Cook at stage, so lively and quick,
/> I knew in a moment there must be iPhone 5.
/> More rapid than A5 his coursers they came,
/> And he whistled, and shouted, and called features by name!
“Now, larger screen! Now, 4″! Now, Retina Display!
/> On, A5! On, dual cores! On, nine times faster graphics!
/> To hit store shelves soon!
/> Now, pre-order! Pre-order! Pre-order all!”
Steve spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
/> And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
/> And laying his finger aside of his nose,
/> And giving a nod, up the iChimney he rose!
He sprang to his Benz, to his team gave a whistle,
/> And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
/> But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
/> “Happy iPhonemas to all, and to all a sold-out launch day!”
(Based on the classic “A Visit from St. Nicholas” poem.)
What does tomorrow hold for all of the iPhone fans out there? If I was one to go wild with predictions, I would have to say that we will indeed see a larger screen, faster performance, as well as a redesigned look and feel with the new iPhone 5. Worst case scenario is that only an iPhone 4S is announced with its most significant feature being a performance boost.
After all this time and the amount of iPhone 4′s sold, I would onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.gamblingiq.com');" target="_blank" title="bet" href="http://www.gamblingiq.com">bet that the iPhone 5 is introduced tomorrow. The rumors of Sprint href="http://www.iphonealley.com/news/sprint-may-exclusively-get-iphone-5-in-a-multi-billion-dollar-deal-updated-iphone-4s5-feature-lists" target="_blank">exclusively offering the fifth-generation iPhone make sense, so I would not write those off. Something tells me that the brand new, “revolutionary” voice-control hub Assistant will make an appearance as well. Tomorrow will either be a very interesting keynote day or a big disappointment in the iOS world.
