Captain America: The First Avenger Invades the iPhone

Captain America isn’t just invading theaters this weekend, he’s also coming to the iPhone and onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.ipadngravy.com');" target="_blank" title="iPad" href="http://www.ipadngravy.com">iPad in Marvel Games’ Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty. The new side-scrolling game is only $4.99 and it pits Captain America against the Hydra organization and Red Skull during World War II.

In Sentinel of Liberty you must destroy Hydra by jumping and sliding over traps, tossing your shield to stun your enemies, and punching and kicking your way to the Red Skull to save the free world. All the action is controlled by the swipe of your fingers, including the kick-butt special moves.

The game features 24 levels, unlockable costumes, unlockable comic book covers and multiple cut-screens to keep the story moving along.

The game’s release coincides with Captain America: The First Avenger which is opening in theaters this weekend. The films stars Chris Evans (Fantastic Four) as Steve Rogers and is the last Marvel tie-in film before Joss Whedon’s Avengers hits theaters.
