China is known for producing cheap, knockoff goods, like fake iPhones and iPods — but what about an entire fake Apple store? This incredible little photo essay from BirdAbroad is of a store in Kunming, China — that looks just like the real thing. The wooden tables are right, the signs are right, the products are real, the staff even believe that they’re working at an actual Apple store. The only problem is that there isn’t one in that city.
The people who were taking these photos got hustled out by security, but managed to convince them that they were Apple store employees from America, taking photos of various branches.
Man, I don’t know if I’m impressed or disgusted. I mean, if you’re going to fake something, you might as well do it right, right?
