The widely held view is that Apple will have their iPhone 5 announcement at their annual Autumnal iPod Music event. Over the last few years, this shindig has taken place on on September 1st, 2010, September 9th, 2009, and September 9th, 2008, and generally heralds the introduction of new iPod models. With no new iPhone landing this Summer, all hopes are pinned on the iPhone 5 being announced at this event.
A Japanese site claims to have a date: Wednesday, September 7. This comes href="http://www.kodawarisan.com/k2011_02/archives/2011/08/aa_ipod_aaaaea9_1.html">from the website Kodariwasen, who are pegging the event to happen on September 8 Japan time, which is September 7 in the USA. href="http://www.macrumors.com/2011/08/12/apple-to-hold-media-event-on-september-8th-2011/">MacRumors believes that this comes from a trusted source, saying, “we confirmed with Kodawarisan that the date was not the product of guesswork, but came from a source in the know.”
Kodariwasen believes that the iPhone 5 will then be released in late September or Early October.
