Steve Jobs died at home in Palo Alto, California, of respiratory arrest caused by a pancreatic tumor at about 3 p.m. on Oct. 5, according to his death certificate. His occupation was listed as “entrepreneur” in the “high tech” business.
While the respiratory arrest was the ultimate cause, the underlying reason was a “metastatic pancreas neuroendocrine tumor” from his pancreatic cancer.
This means at least that Jobs was alive during the iPhone 4S announcement, and while obviously not well enough to take the stage or attend the show, at least he would have been able to watch.
