On Wednesday, Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security issued a security warning for all iOS devices due to a security hole on the OS. Either opening an infected PDF or visiting a website with the infected PDF would create an opening for malware to be injected into the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. The iPhone security hole gives the hacker admin privileges, which includes full access to your data, email, and contacts.
Yesterday, Apple declared that they were aware of the issue and working on a fix. In a statement to the Wall Street Journal, Apple said, ”[we] takes security very seriously, we’re aware of this reported issue and developing a fix that will be available to customers in an upcoming software update.”
Which means expect the hole to be plugged in the next couple of days.
