We’ve all been waiting like crazy for Facebook to release a proper iPad app — but it turns out they did, they just hid it deep inside the href="http://itunes.apple.com/app/facebook/id284882215?mt=8">most recent update. As href="http://techcrunch.com/2011/07/25/facebooks-hidden-ipad-app/">spotted by TechCrunch, the code for Facebook for iPad app lies hidden inside the iPhone app, there for anyone with sufficient skills to access.
And it’s not just a scaled up version of the iPhone one, either. It’s a complete redesign from the ground up, with a whole new interface. TechCrunch has confirmed that this is the iPad app that Facebook is working on — but we have no idea why it was bundled away inside the iPhone version.
So, what do you do if you want to try it yourself? The technique to access it isn’t too hard, if you have some jailbreaking experience. href="http://www.redmondpie.com/official-facebook-app-for-ipad-heres-how-to-install-it-right-now-tutorial/">Redmond Pie has the complete run through of how to do it, but as always, tweaking this stuff happens at your own risk.
